Satin Silk Fabric for Bridal & Eveningwear
Core supply
Satin silk is a lustrous, smooth-faced mulberry silk with a soft sheen and fluid drape, supplied greige or dyed to order from a standard shade card or your custom color.

Satin silk is the silk people picture when they think of liquid lustre: a smooth, glossy face with a soft sheen that slides under the hand and catches light as it moves. It is woven so the warp floats over the weft, which is what gives satin its signature high-gloss front and matt reverse — the same drape and shine that make it the default choice for bridal gowns, eveningwear and luxury linings.
When the satin weave is worked in real mulberry silk, the cloth is properly called charmeuse (also known as crepe-back satin). The name charmeuse is reserved for silk — a polyester or rayon fabric in the same weave may be sold as satin, but only genuine silk charmeuse has the weight, breathability and depth of lustre that the term implies.
We supply satin silk fabric from 10 to 30 momme, with the 16–19 momme satin the most-requested weight for sleepwear and shirts, 22–25 momme for high-end bedding, and 30 momme and up for heavyweight structured pieces. Standard widths are 114 cm and 140 cm, which suit both garment cutting and soft furnishings.
Like all our silk, satin is supplied greige for your own color development, or dyed to order — we offer both a standard shade card and custom color matching, so the finished shade is exactly what your collection needs.

Frequently asked questions
What is satin silk fabric used for?
Satin silk's high-gloss face and fluid drape make it the standard choice for bridal and evening gowns, luxury linings, lingerie and soft furnishings — anywhere a smooth, lustrous silk surface is part of the design.
What is the difference between satin, charmeuse and crepe-back satin?
They describe the same family of fabric. Satin is the weave (a glossy face over a matt reverse); crepe-back satin is satin woven with a crepe reverse. When that satin weave is worked in genuine mulberry silk, it is properly called charmeuse — a term reserved for silk. A polyester or rayon fabric in the same weave may be sold as satin, but only real silk charmeuse has the weight, breathability and depth of lustre the name implies.
What momme weights does your satin silk come in?
We supply satin silk in 10, 12, 14, 16, 19, 22, 25 and 30 momme. The 16–19 momme range suits sleepwear and shirts, 22–25 momme suits high-end bedding, and 30 momme and up is the heavyweight choice for structured pieces.
Is your satin silk available in color?
Yes. Satin is supplied greige (undyed) or dyed to order — we offer both a standard shade card and custom color matching, so you get the exact shade your collection needs.
