Georgette is a sheer, lightweight mulberry silk woven from highly twisted yarns, which gives it a subtle crinkle and a soft, flowing drape that floats rather than clings. It is the classic choice for scarves, summer dresses and any garment where airy movement is the point.
We supply georgette silk from 8 to 16 momme, with heavier 22 momme georgette available for outerwear. The 8–12 momme range is the classic sheer, floaty weight; 14–16 momme gives enough body for garments, and heavy 22 momme georgette is used for jackets. Standard widths are 114 cm and 140 cm.
Like all our silk, georgette is supplied greige for your own color development, or dyed to order from a standard shade card or your custom color.
